“Auntie Asia” - Asia Rae Alvey

Director

Asia has been a part of Owl House Children’s Sanctuary since 2008, bringing a deep sense of care, connection, and expertise to her role as Director. She holds an A.S. in Hospitality from Santa Barbara City College and has spent most of her life caring for children. Babysitting from the age of 12, she later worked as a nanny in California before returning to Hailey to join Owl House.

At Owl House, Asia oversees finances, billing, and scheduling while also capturing special moments through photos and videos. She’s the go-to for reading time, haircuts, nail trimming, and ensuring every child receives plenty of love and snuggles. Asia is certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR and brings a warm, reassuring presence when little ones need comfort or care. Whether tending to a scraped knee or offering quiet support during big feelings, she’s always ready to help children feel safe and seen.

Asia’s approach to working with young children is rooted in patience, empathy, and understanding. She believes in slowing down, listening to every perspective, and nurturing little ones with warmth and care. Nothing brings her more joy than making a positive difference in a child’s life.

Asia was born in Ventura, California, and moved to Hailey with her family when she was three. She now lives here with her husband and teenage stepdaughter. She loves dancing, singing, and sharing a good laugh. In the summer, you’ll find her jumping in the river, enjoying outdoor live music, or gathered around a bonfire with friends and family. In the winter, she prefers to stay cozy by the fire or connect over a good meal with a close friend.

Her loving nature and ability to connect with children make her a treasured part of Owl House. Whether she’s offering a comforting hug or simply listening with understanding, Asia creates a space where children feel safe, seen, and loved.

“Grandma Pamela” - Pamela Rae Plowman

Owner / Childcare Assistant

Pamela was born in Los Angeles and spent her childhood on a 600-acre ranch in the foothills of the California Sierra Nevada mountains outside of Yosemite. She and her sister grew up with the freedom to explore—riding horses, swimming in the lakes and river, and caring for the animals on the ranch. When Pamela was eight, she got a baby brother—a moment she had long dreamed of, as she had always wanted a baby in the family. Less than two years later, she welcomed another baby brother, and together they gave her plenty of practice in the art of nurturing.

She earned a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Florida Gainesville and went on to work as a nurse and midwife for 25 years, attending over 200 home births in California and the Wood River Valley. In 1987, she and her husband moved to Hailey, looking for a quieter place to raise their three young children. They quickly put down roots and have called the valley home ever since.

In the summer of 2005, Pamela opened Owl House, creating a warm, child-centered space where little ones are free to explore within the gentle boundaries of the Golden Rule. Certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR, Pamela brings a composed, capable presence to every moment. With her background in nursing, she’s especially skilled in emergencies, offering both practical care and steady emotional support. Her primary responsibilities include early morning drop-off, nap time, reading, nail trimming, snuggling, first aid, and providing backup support as needed. She also has a special talent for repairing children's clothing and beloved stuffed animals, which always brings smiles.

Outside of Owl House, Pamela enjoys sewing, caring for the land around her home, and staying engaged in political advocacy focused on protecting children’s brain development and democracy. At her core, she is a nurturer, dedicated to creating a world where children feel safe, loved, and free to explore.

“Auntie Emerald” - Emerald Virginia Klepser

Childcare Assistant

Born in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Emerald spent her early years in the small mining town of Stewart, B.C., before moving to Hailey at age nine. Her family relocated so she could have better educational and athletic opportunities, and she has embraced the beauty of Idaho ever since.

Emerald joined Owl House Children’s Sanctuary in July 2024, bringing dedication, warmth, and a deep appreciation for children’s growth and development. She graduated from Silver Creek High School and gained early experience working with children as an after-school youth leader with the YMCA. Her time there helped her develop patience, creativity, and a genuine love for connecting with young children—skills she brings into her work every day at Owl House.

At Owl House, Emerald plays an essential role in meal preparation, cleaning, conflict resolution, and supporting children in their daily routines. She also helps create a nurturing and supportive space by offering comfort, encouragement, and plenty of snuggles. Emerald is certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR and is always quick to respond with gentle, caring support when a child needs comfort or care.

Emerald’s approach to working with young children is centered on listening and building connections. She believes that by truly understanding a child’s perspective, she can help them feel valued and supported as they navigate the world. Watching children grow, explore, and discover new things is what she loves most about her work.

In her free time, Emerald enjoys crocheting—a creative and calming hobby—and spending time outdoors, whether she’s taking in the fresh mountain air or exploring new trails. She brings a strong work ethic and a steady sense of commitment, always striving to create a positive and nurturing environment for the children she cares for.

“Auntie Deysi” - Deysi Serva Camposano

Childcare Assistant

Born and raised in Chongos Alto, Huancayo, Peru, Deysi moved to California before settling in Hailey. She came here seeking adventure, tranquility, and the opportunity to build a life with her partner in the beautiful Wood River Valley.

Deysi holds a B.A. in Administration from the University Continental and an A.S. in Pharmacy Technician from the Institute Eugenio Paccelly. After working for eight years as a pharmacy technician and two years as an administrative assistant in a publishing house, she transitioned into childcare. Deysi is certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR and approaches each situation with calm confidence. She has a great eye for detail, often noticing little owies or moments of discomfort before anyone else, helping children feel secure and supported.

Deysi joined Owl House in January 2025, bringing valuable experience from caring for children of family members and trusted friends. Her approach to childcare is to teach, support, and foster happiness. She loves being a part of the children’s growth and learning and enjoys forming meaningful connections with each of them. Deysi’s keen attention to detail and commitment to keeping Owl House clean and welcoming help make it a safe and inviting environment. She also loves playing with the children, engaging with them as if she were one of them, creating a fun and nurturing atmosphere.

At Owl House, Deysi’s primary responsibilities include meal preparation, cleaning, conflict resolution, assisting children with anything they need, and providing first aid as needed.

In her free time, Deysi enjoys spending time with loved ones, exploring nature, and dancing. Her kindness and warmth create a calming presence, fostering positive relationships with both children and staff.
