CALLING OUT THE HARMS OF SCREEN TIME FOR CHILDREN

Alliance for Childhood builds, strengthens, and empowers advocacy networks to improve the lives of children. We envision a world where stress is reduced in children by: increased child-initiated and intrinsically motivated free play, reduced screen time and high stakes testing, and increased open-ended, active play opportunities. We work to support children’s healthy development, love of learning, and joy in living.

Imagine a world where kids can be kids, free from interference from brands, marketers, and attention-hijacking devices. Image a world where children’s needs come before corporate profits. Imagine a commercial-free childhood. Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC) is a nonprofit organization that supports parents’ efforts to raise healthy families by limiting commercial access to children and ending the exploitive practice of child-targeted marketing.

Teachers Resisting Unhealthy Children’s Entertainment (TRUCE) is a grassroots organization of educators who prepare materials and provide information to help parents and educators work to counteract the harmful impact of commercial culture, media, and marketing on children’s play, learning, and behavior.
